We collect credentials and information to provide better services to our users. This includes account profile information (names, emails) and resource uploads (notes, exams, sample papers).

2. Information Security

All data is hosted securely in Google Firebase / Cloud Firestore. We enforce strict Firebase Security Rules, restricting read/write permissions to verified account uploaders and administrators. Sensitive transactions are processed behind JWT token authorization headers.

3. AI Assistant Training & Telemetry

Contributor personal & network group messages are processed on the server to dynamically train and update the DPGNotes AI Assistant knowledge base. Users whose accounts are suspended or subject to copyright notices can submit an official appeal through the Support & Suspension Appeal Portal.

1. Platform Use & Account Eligibility

DPGNotes is designed as an open educational repository. Users may register to upload academic notes, sample papers, sessional guides, and tutorials. Contributors retain the right to delete their own uploaded documents as well as delete their entire account profile via the dashboard Danger Zone at any time.

2. Administration Rights

Administrators have the authority to suspend or permanently block user profiles found violating sessional content standards or copyright guidelines. Suspended contributors are barred from uploading or generating share links for the suspension duration. Administrators can also permanently delete generated share codes, terminating access for visitors and sending automated email warnings to all interested parties.

Cookie Policy

DPGNotes uses cookies, local storage key-values, and similar tracking technologies to enhance your interface interaction and persist session state preferences.

1. What Technologies We Use

• Local Storage: Used to persist theme preferences (dark/light mode), secure admin JWT tokens, and contributor session states.
• Firebase Authentication Cookies: Firebase Auth SDK utilizes browser tokens to persist logged-in statuses securely.

By using DPGNotes, you consent to the storage of essential session tokens necessary for account authorization, security, and theme preferences.

Copyright Policy

Tracking & Analytics Policy

We collect essential analytics to improve site load speeds, monitor security anomalies, and track academic resource engagement (Click Through Rate / CTR).

1. Telemetry for Guest Users

When you visit the site anonymously, the platform may track:

• Anonymous Guest ID / Session ID

• Operating system, browser agent version, device type, and screen resolution
• Search queries and custom theme selections

2. Telemetry for Authenticated Contributors

For logged-in users, the platform records:

• User ID, Username, Role, and masked Email address

Security Policy

1. Server Security

All database queries undergo validation via Google Firebase server-side Firestore Rules. Admin actions require JWT authentication tokens verified on the Render server.

2. API Security

Our backend APIs employ CORS protection and JWT token verification. Deletions and user modifications are strictly logged in the Activity Logs database.

Data Retention Policy

We only retain collected personal data and document records for as long as necessary to fulfill academic usage and compliance mandates.

1. Contributor Deletion

When a contributor deletes their account, all associated documents, user logs, and database profiles are permanently and immediately deleted from Firestore.

2. Activity and Traffic Logs

Click engagements, telemetry logs, and activity entries are archived or scrubbed after 180 days to minimize data footprint.

DPGNotes Regulations & Suspension Act (DRASA)

1. Introduction & Scope

The DPGNotes Regulations & Suspension Act (DRASA) establishes the official governance framework for DPGNotes. It defines conduct standards, uploader responsibilities, and administrative enforcement procedures including temporary suspensions, long-term bans, appeal procedures, and disciplinary metrics.

2. Disciplinary Classifications & Referral Fraud Penalties

Violations on the portal are categorized from Level I to Level V:

• Level I (Informational): Minor duplicate uploads or formatting errors resulting in educational guidance.
• Level II (Minor): Low quality submissions or spam resulting in warning notices.
• Level III (Moderate): Repeated category errors or share link abuse resulting in temporary contributor suspension.
• Level IV (Serious & Referral Fraud): Direct copyright infringement, or Referral Fraud (inviting existing users or generating mismatching invitation codes). Referral Fraud Penalties: 1st Offense = 5-day suspension; 2nd Offense = 12-day suspension; 3rd+ Offense = Permanent Account Ban.
• Level V (Critical Security): Phishing, credential scraping, database tampering, or host infrastructure attack attempts resulting in immediate, permanent ban and account deletion.

3. Anonymous Guest Access Quota Rules

To preserve infrastructure stability and prevent scraping, unauthenticated guest users are granted a daily quota of 6 page visits and 3 PDF reads per 24 hours. Exceeding this quota requires signing up with a valid Google account to continue accessing academic materials. Legal Policy pages remain unconditionally accessible.

Ads Policy & Content Safety Guidelines

This Advertising Policy governs all promotional campaigns, sponsored resources, external post links, media embeds, and native ad displays submitted by contributors or displayed across the DPGNotes portal.

1. Scope & Sponsored Ad Categories

DPGNotes supports five distinct ad formats for academic and professional growth:

• 📘 DPGNotes Resource Boost: Promotes hosted PDFs, study guides, assignment solutions, or exam revision notes within the portal feed.
• 💼 LinkedIn Post / Article Promotion: Highlights professional engineering posts, industry insights, or tech articles.
• 📝 Medium Story Promotion: Promotes deep-dive technical tutorials, project walkthroughs, or blogs with custom banner media.
• 🐙 GitHub Repository Promotion: Showcases open-source projects, developer tools, repositories, and code bases.
• 🔴 YouTube Video / Channel Promotion: Promotes video lectures, channel trailers, software demos, and tech tutorials with hover preview capabilities.

2. Ad Upload & Submission Workflow

1. Category Selection: Choose the appropriate platform category from the Promote & Upload Ads tab in the Contributor Dashboard.
2. Title & Description: Enter accurate titles and concise summaries. Use the ✨ AI Auto-Suggest Tags Engine to extract contextual tags.
3. Media Assets: Optional Cloudinary banner uploads or YouTube video URLs must comply with resolution and safety criteria.
4. Destination Link: Destination URLs must be direct, operational links matching the selected platform domain.
5. Review & Approval: Submissions undergo automated and admin verification before publishing to the network.

3. Content Safety & Prohibited Practices

Submissions containing any of the following will be rejected immediately:

• Malware, phishing, forced downloads, or URL cloaking.
• Hate speech, harassment, explicit media, or illegal content.
• Academic dishonesty scams, paper-writing mills, or copyright-infringing downloads.
• Deceptive clickbait, misleading titles, or domain spoofing.

4. Violation Criteria & Enforcement Actions

To assist academic discovery, DPGNotes resources and AI assistants may contain links pointing to external websites. When you click any external link, the platform intercepts the action and displays a warning dialog to prevent phishing and unauthorized tracking.

1. Third-Party Responsibility

DPGNotes does not control, verify, or warrant the safety, reliability, or content of external websites. Proceeding past the warning dialog is entirely at your own risk.

2. Secure Redirect Mode

Any external domain navigation is opened in a new tab with modern safety headers (e.g. noopener, noreferrer) to protect your browser session from security compromises.
