1. Commitment to Intellectual Property & Academic Fair Use

DPGNotes, engineered and operated by Akshat Network Hub, upholds rigorous standards of academic integrity and intellectual property compliance. The platform functions strictly under the framework of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957, the Information Technology Act, 2000, and international copyright conventions including the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works and the TRIPS Agreement.

DPGNotes is designed as an open academic repository facilitating legitimate peer-to-peer knowledge exchange. All educational materials hosted on our servers are required to be synthesized notes, classroom formula compilations, research outlines, or student analysis created under recognized statutory fair dealing doctrines.

2. Statutory Fair Dealing under Indian Law (Section 52)

Under Section 52(1)(a)(i) of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957, the following activities are statutorily recognized as non-infringing fair dealings:

3. Contributor Authorship & Creative Commons Licensing

When student authors and educators upload notes to DPGNotes, they retain the moral and original copyright to their independently drafted pedagogical analyses. By submitting content, contributors grant DPGNotes a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, index, and format the materials for educational access.

Unless expressly specified otherwise by the contributor, all shared educational resources are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). Users are free to share and adapt the material for personal and academic purposes, provided proper credit is given, no commercial profit is derived, and new creations are distributed under identical terms.

4. Strictly Prohibited Submissions & Piracy Restrictions

DPGNotes enforces an absolute prohibition against uploading or sharing the following materials:

• Scanned Commercial Textbooks: Complete or substantial scans of commercial academic textbooks, commercial study guides, or copyrighted monographs.
• Proprietary Publisher Test Banks: Restricted question banks, answer keys, or paid solution manuals intended exclusively for instructors.
• Unauthorized Institutional Documents: Confidential university administrative papers, leaked examination question drafts, or proprietary institutional curriculum assets.
• Commercial Software Code: Proprietary binary software, cracked tools, or proprietary code repositories exceeding fair instructional excerpts.

5. Attribution Standards for Academic Submissions

In accordance with academic publishing standards, contributors must ensure proper attribution whenever textbook diagrams, authoritative definitions, or mathematical models are referenced. Citations should include the author name, book title, edition, and publication year. Failure to provide academic attribution may lead to administrative content review or submission rejection.

6. Formal Copyright Infringement Notice Protocol

If you are a copyright owner, author, or authorized licensing representative and believe that any resource on DPGNotes infringes upon your exclusive copyright, you may submit a formal Notice of Infringement containing:

• Full legal name, organization/institution, physical address, telephone number, and official email address of the copyright claimant.
• Accurate identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (including title, ISBN, or copyright registration certificate).
• Direct URL or Resource ID of the allegedly infringing document on DPGNotes (e.g., https://dpgnotes.web.app/dpgnotes-pdf-viewer.html?docId=...).
• A statement that you have a good faith belief that the contested use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or statutory fair use provisions.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notification is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the exclusive copyright owner.

7. Takedown Timelines & Enforcement under DRASA

Upon receiving a bona fide notification, DPGNotes initiates prompt content review and deactivates access to the contested material within 48 business hours. Persistent copyright violations by any contributor trigger progressive sanctions under the DPGNotes Regulations & Suspension Act (DRASA), culminating in permanent revocation of uploading privileges and removal of contributor badges.
